Pete Seghesio thought he’d grow Zinfandel all his life. The Seghesio name is synonymous with Zinfandel in California’s Sonoma County, and his mom’s side of the family, the Passalacquas, has been in the Zin business for just as long—125 years or more. But just about everything at their historic San Lorenzo Vineyard is changing, including the production of the family’s signature grape.
