Right at the border of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, Los Angeles’ Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is an Americana dining experience with a West Coast–heavy wine cellar. It earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2022 and is one of six Yardbird restaurants from 50 Eggs Hospitality, including an Award of Excellence–winning location in Dallas.
Balancing well-known selections and small-production picks, the wine list features around 200 labels curated by general manager and wine director Will White. The list is classically divided into Old World and New World sections—with wines from regions such as Burgundy, Champagne, Tuscany, New Zealand and South Africa —but in the additional “Homeland” sections, White pays extra attention to selections from the U.S., with pedigree bottlings from the likes of Hirsch, Maycamas, Heitz, and Chateau Montelena. Not in the mood for wine? To whet your palate, Yardbird offers more than 80 Bourbons—one of the largest collections in the area—plus a selection of ryes, other American whiskeys and creative cocktails.
The menu varies slightly among Yardbird locations, but each is filled with fun riffs on Southern classics. At the Los Angeles location, there’s a BLT stuffed with fried green tomatoes and pork belly, shrimp and grits in a Pabst Blue Ribbon jus and, of course, Yardbird’s signature fried chicken and cheddar waffles served with honey hot sauce and spiced watermelon salad.

Housed in the Beverly Center, an upscale shopping destination, Yardbird’s spacious dining room offers Southern-style comfort with soft golden lights, a high wood-beamed ceiling and a massive table that can seat 20. But it’s the bar that dominates the space. After all, where else would the Yardbird team show off all those beautiful Bourbons?
Yardbird is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week, with brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays.
